Planning over 3,000 hectares of rubber plantation in Que Phong area

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 18, 2013, Que Phong District People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Provincial People's Committee on land use planning for the rubber planting project of Nghe An Rubber Investment and Development Joint Stock Company in Que Phong District, period 2013-2020.

Attending the event were Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Pham Trung Thai - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nghe An Rubber Investment and Development Joint Stock Company; leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Que Phong district.

Checking the progress of rubber planting in Que Phong district

According to the survey results, Que Phong's climate conditions are quite favorable for rubber trees to grow and develop. In order to create conditions for investors to build and develop concentrated rubber growing areas to meet stable raw materials for rubber latex processing factories according to the province's investment attraction policy, the planned rubber growing area in Que Phong district will be 3,089 hectares, located in Tien Phong, Hanh Dich, Muong Noc and Que Son communes. This area is originally production forest, including unforested land, raw material plantation forests and depleted natural forests.

It is expected that the adjustment and expansion of rubber acreage in Que Phong district will create stable and regular jobs for about 1,200 workers, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction and improving people's lives.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: In order to create conditions for investors to be able to plant rubber trees on schedule, Que Phong district needs to have active coordination measures to hand over land to investors in a timely manner, and hand over land as soon as land is cleared. It is requested that Nghe An Rubber Development Investment Joint Stock Company coordinate with the locality and relevant departments to effectively implement the joint venture content, cooperate with people in developing rubber areas; prepare all conditions for compensation, site clearance and rubber tree planting. Que Phong district and departments must actively participate, coordinate well, and create the most favorable conditions for the company in the process of implementing the planning./.
