- Pham Duc Toan: Born into a family of teachers and a retired mother, Toan stood out as an intelligent, studious and excellent student since childhood. Throughout his studies, although he did not have any outstanding achievements and was not allowed to participate in national and international competitions, Toan had a very stable "performance", studied all subjects well and always got high scores because of his carefulness and meticulousness. - Hoang Nghia Binh: My family is a farming family in Phong Quang hamlet, Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city. My father, Hoang Nghia Nham, has been sick since he was young, has heart valve disease, hydrocephalus, so all activities are not like normal people. Every day, Nham stays at home to do odd jobs, and on days when he is well, he goes to herd the cows for his wife. My mother, Tran Thi Thao, does whatever jobs are hired to cover the living expenses and education expenses for Binh and his brother. - Tran My Dung: Dung's family is a near-poor household in the commune, the main income depends on 3 sao of fertile land, and also supports her grandmother who is over 75 years old. With such difficulties, Dung's time for studying is gradually shortened, instead she has to work hard with her parents to earn extra income. - Hong Thi Huong: Huong was born into a poor farming family in Thanh Lien commune, Thanh Chuong district. Her whole family's life depends on a few acres of contracted rice fields. Since her mother suffered from kidney stones and was often sick, Huong's father had to work for hire to earn money for medicine for her mother and Huong's sisters to study. For many years, her family was among the poor households in the commune. Feeling sorry for her parents' hardships, in addition to studying, Huong also did housework and farm work as the main laborer in the family. |
