During the working session with the leaders of Quy Hop district, on behalf of the district leaders, comrade Bui Thanh An, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee reported on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan of the district in 2012 and the first quarter of 2013. Accordingly, the total production value in the area in 2012 was 3,759,220 million VND, reaching 91% of the plan, up 5.5% compared to 2011, the economic growth rate reached 5%. The total output of grain crops was 33,128 tons, reaching 92.8% of the plan, up 5.4% compared to 2011. The budget revenue in the area reached 118,000 million VND, reaching 68%. Trade and services increased, culture and society had many positive changes, the quality of education was improved, social security was given attention, the poverty rate decreased to 24%. National defense and security were maintained. Total budget revenue in the first quarter of 2013 reached 30 billion VND, equal to 25% of the plan and 103% compared to the same period last year.
The initial implementation of new rural construction in Quy Hop has achieved good results. The district has completed planning and approved the planning, and made efforts to mobilize resources to build infrastructure. Local businesses have registered to support 2,083 million VND, the total cash contribution of the people is 10.872 billion VND; sand and gravel contribution is 14,942 m3; people donate land with 79,639 m2 of agricultural land, ... The total value of assets donated by the people to serve the new rural construction reached more than 62 billion VND. With the support of 4,850 tons of cement from the province, the whole district has built 27.6km of rural roads. Quy Hop is also focusing on building models, building sample fields, testing models of applying synchronous scientific and technical solutions to treat grass shoot disease; Implementing models of growing high-quality sugarcane, growing high-yield oranges, growing clean vegetables, raising local yellow cows...

Quy Hop has achieved many achievements in socio-economic development, people are united, and have well implemented the national target program on new rural construction...
However, Quy Hop still has limitations such as high poverty rate, weak infrastructure, low per capita income, high third child birth rate. Quy Hop has not had a strong economic breakthrough, environmental pollution has not been overcome... In the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Quy Hop to focus on bringing scientific advances into production; focus on building new rural areas; develop and embellish urban areas, connect tourist routes, develop services, trade, markets, focus on attracting investment, administrative reform; support businesses; need to develop economic models such as raising chickens, wild pigs, need to create breakthroughs, overcome the situation of businesses not completing land lease procedures... strive to make Quy Hop one of the growth poles, the development center of the Northwest region of the province./.
