Green Mekong Fund and Step Up to School Fund visit and give gifts to students of Xuan Thanh Secondary School
On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2011-2012, at Xuan Thanh Secondary School (Yen Thanh District, Nghe An), Mr. Ho Duc Thuan, General Secretary of the Green Mekong Fund in Vietnam and teacher Dao Van Long, Chairman of the School Development Fund based in Ho Chi Minh City visited and presented scholarships to students of the school.
(Baonghean) -On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2011-2012, at Xuan Thanh Secondary School (Yen Thanh District, Nghe An), Mr. Ho Duc Thuan, General Secretary of the Green Mekong Fund in Vietnam and teacher Dao Van Long, Chairman of the School Development Fund based in Ho Chi Minh City visited and presented scholarships to students of the school.
Representatives of the Yen Thanh Department of Education and Training; Party Committee, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Xuan Thanh commune attended the ceremony.
At the scholarship awarding ceremony, Le Van Hau, an excellent student at the provincial level, received 2 million VND; 10 students who achieved the title of excellent students at the district level, each received 1 million VND; 12 students with difficult circumstances who have improved their academic performance, each received 200,000 VND and gifts worth 300,000 VND.
The School Support Fund also awarded 8 teachers with many achievements in teaching, each with 500,000 VND.
