Acting President sends condolences over terrorist attack in Iran
Upon hearing of the terrorist attack in Avt on September 22, 2018 that killed and injured many Iranians, on September 25, 2018, Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh sent a message of condolences to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also sent a message of condolences to Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Responding to a reporter's question about the shooting during a parade in the city of Avvad on September 22, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang stated:
“We would like to send our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Iran and the families of the victims of the terrorist attack on September 22. Vietnam strongly condemns terrorist attacks in all forms and believes that these acts must be severely punished according to the law.”
