Decision on Black Sea Grain Deal to be made at last minute
(Baonghean.vn) - According to a source from Türkiye, Russia will agree to extend the above grain agreement only if they consider this move appropriate.

According to Russia's TASS news agency, a diplomatic source in Türkiye said on July 16 that the decision on whether or not to extend the Black Sea Grain Initiative will be made at the last minute, as there is currently no sign that the parties to the agreement have reached a consensus.
“Obviously, the decision will be made at the last minute,” the source said.
According to the same source, Russia will agree to extend the agreement only if they think it is appropriate. “Recent statements from Russia show that they have a firm stance. It takes a lot of reasons, a lot of compromises to convince them to change their stance. So far there is no such information, so they may not agree to extend it again, unlike what they did before,” the source said.
He affirmed that Türkiye will make many efforts to extend the agreement for the remaining time before it expires, but needs to be mentally prepared for the possibility that Russia may stop participating in the agreement.
On July 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that commitments to remove barriers to Russian food and fertilizer exports, part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, had not been met and that the main goal of the agreement - supplying grain to countries in need - had not been achieved.
