The conference was attended by representatives of the Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Police, Provincial Border Guard Command, Department of Health, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and related departments, branches and organizations.

The report of the National Committee on AIDS, Drug and Prostitution Prevention and Control stated: With many policies and solutions, there have been positive changes in the prevention and fight against these types of crimes, contributing to ensuring social security and order in the area.
In Nghe An, in the first 6 months of 2013, the work of preventing and combating AIDS, drug abuse, and prostitution has achieved many important results: In the work of preventing and combating drugs, the authorities have discovered and arrested 382 cases, 677 subjects illegally producing, trading, storing, and transporting drugs, confiscating 30.141 kg of heroin, 53.4 grams of synthetic drugs, 3,405 synthetic drug pills, and many other weapons and means. Thereby, 309 cases and 417 defendants have been prosecuted and investigated. The whole province has organized drug rehabilitation for 1,015 people, organized vocational training and passed on vocational skills to 846 students at social labor education centers, and supported 165 drug addicts to reintegrate into the community after rehabilitation.
In the work of preventing prostitution, the province has organized 02 interdisciplinary inspections, inspected 120 service establishments, discovered 42 establishments in violation, arrested 5 cases, 14 subjects of prostitution brokerage. In the work of preventing HIV/AIDS, the authorities have approached and intervened to prevent 3,08,111 drug addicts, 13,555 prostitutes, restaurant attendants. 3,720 infected people and 4,675 people are family members of infected people; maintained the needle and syringe program in 8/20 urban districts, the condom program in 20/20 urban districts...
In the last 6 months of 2013, Nghe An province determined to continue to focus on directing functional agencies to do a good job of grasping and forecasting the situation, promptly detecting and effectively resolving emerging issues of crime and social evils; establishing a crime prevention fund for Nghe An province; organizing a conference on drug prevention coordination among Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Son La, Dien Bien provinces and 04 provinces of Laos...
