Decisive action in land clearance for the renovation project of Zone B - Quang Trung Apartment Complex.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 21st, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a working session with key leaders of Vinh City regarding the progress of the renovation project for Block B of the Quang Trung Apartment Complex. Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, also participated in the meeting.

The Quang Trung Apartment Complex B renovation project, as requested by the Provincial People's Committee, must complete investment preparation procedures from the fourth quarter of 2014 to the first quarter of 2015. Phase 1, including the construction of a resettlement building, a mixed-use area, and technical infrastructure, will begin in late 2015 or early 2016. Therefore, by the end of March 2015, land clearance for the three apartment buildings B2, B3, and B5, affecting over 240 households and 964 residents, must be completed. In addition, land clearance for 80 business kiosks, three cultural centers, and several other technical facilities is also required.

After listening to the opinions of Vinh City leaders and the suggestions from several relevant departments and agencies, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed: The renovation of the Quang Trung apartment complex is an important project related to the urban landscape of Vinh City. The purpose is to ensure the safety of residents currently living in the dilapidated apartment complex, and to provide them with new, spacious, modern housing suitable for urban civilization. Therefore, residents will certainly benefit greatly.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that Vinh City focus on disseminating information and explaining to the people the necessity of renovating and constructing new public facilities in the city. The common good of all citizens must be prioritized, therefore, resolute and coordinated efforts are needed in relocation and land clearance. The entire political system needs to be involved decisively, ensuring the timely handover of cleared land to investors.

During the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee directly addressed obstacles in land clearance and construction progress for the Euro Window Tower project, the Vinh Plaza shopping center project at the Vinh Market intersection, and the road connecting National Highway 1A to Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street.

The Provincial People's Committee has instructed the City government and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to work with the General Department of Land Management and coordinate with the investor to promptly allocate funds to pay compensation to households and proceed with the construction of two resettlement areas.
