(Baonghean.vn) -In the first days of the historic month of May, with the approval of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of comrade Phan Dang Luu (May 5, 1902 - May 5, 2012), former Standing Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party, veteran revolutionary soldier, exemplary leader of the Vietnamese revolution, excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, outstanding son of his hometown Yen Thanh, Nghe An.

Before the opening ceremony, with the moral of "When drinking water, remember its source", the delegations of the Central Committee, the Command of Military Region 4, Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An province, Yen Thanh district and Hoa Thanh commune, representatives of the Phan family council of Hoa Thanh commune and a large number of people in the province came to the Memorial House where comrade Phan Dang Luu grew up and did revolutionary activities to offer incense and flowers to the spirit of comrade Phan Dang Luu.

In the midst of a garden full of fruit trees, the fragrant scent of frangipani and the rice fields full of milk, under the roof of a house with a hundred years of history; in the sacred moment, the delegations bowed to express their respect and deep gratitude for the great contributions of comrade Phan Dang Luu to the homeland, the country, the revolution and the people. Before the spirit of the comrade, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province promise to follow his example, promote the fine traditions of their ancestors, determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 17th National Party Congress of Nghe An province, focus on developing the economy, culture, society, national defense and security to gradually improve the material and spiritual life of the people, actively contribute to the cause of national renewal, making Nghe An a well-off province of the country as Uncle Ho always wished.

Yen Thanh a hundred years ago, like all other poor countrysides of the country, was immersed in pain, hunger, and slavery caused by the feudal colonial regime. Growing up facing the loss of the country and home, like many other outstanding children of the homeland such asNguyen Van Cu, Tran Phu, Le Hong Phong, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Ha Huy Tap, Vo Van Tan, etc. Comrade Phan Dang Luu actively participated in patriotic activities, became an excellent student of Uncle Ho and the first communist soldiers, leading the country's revolution. His life was alwayswholeheartedly serve, contribute and sacrifice for the revolution, bring freedom to the nation, independence to the fatherland, happiness to the people...

Yen Thanh today, on the solemn occasion of comrade Phan Dang Luu's 110th birthday anniversary, all the streets are bustling with flags and flowers, the sky is filled with the red flag. The revolutionary seeds sown long ago have blossomed and borne fruit in the cause of innovation.

8:00 a.m., the sun in the Central region these days is like pouring fire, but at the central hall of Yen Thanh district, thousands of people gathered to attend the anniversary of the birth of the outstanding son of Yen Thanh homeland. Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, white-haired revolutionary elders; heroes of the People's Armed Forces, heroes of labor; representatives of all walks of life of Yen Thanh district all solemnly followed the art program expressing their infinite gratitude to comrade Phan Dang Luu and the heroic martyrs. The art program at the anniversary was elaborately built, by the collective of cadres and actors of the cultural sector of Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province, respectfully presented to the Party, Uncle Ho and comrade Phan Dang Luu - the Party's outstanding revolutionary predecessor.

The speech commemorating the 110th anniversary of the birth of comrade Phan Dang Luu, presented by comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, solemnly reviewed the glorious life of comrade Phan Dang Luu, once again affirming: “The life and revolutionary career of comrade Phan Dang Luu is a shining example of absolute loyalty to Marxism-Leninism and the revolutionary line of the Party and of Uncle Ho. Comrade Phan Dang Luu is a shining example of the spirit of enthusiastic learning, to achieve a high and comprehensive level of contemporary knowledge. Improving knowledge is to serve the Party, the revolution, the nation, and the people; paying great attention to training the young generation and fostering knowledge for compatriots and comrades; thoroughly using the tools of knowledge such as books and newspapers for revolutionary activities; applying them fully, intelligently, clearly, and lucidly in planning policies and solving specific problems of the revolution. Comrade Phan Dang Luu will forever be an example shining example of revolutionary heroism for our generations to follow".

Provincial Party Secretary Phan Dinh Trac called on the Party Committee and people of the province and Yen Thanh district to promote the glorious revolutionary tradition of their homeland, determined to strive to build Nghe An into a well-off province in the country, as wished by Uncle Ho and the revolutionary predecessors of their homeland during their lifetime.

On behalf of the young generation, Ms. Phan Thi An - Acting Secretary of Yen Thanh District Youth Union pledged: Every youth union member today will be the one to protect, preserve the tradition and pass on the revolutionary fire to the next generation, so that the sacrifice of the revolutionary predecessors and of comrade Phan Dang Luu will always last forever with the nation.

After the celebration at the district central hall, the delegations and leaders of Nghe An province and Yen Thanh district attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Phan Dang Luu Monument and the Central Park in Yen Thanh district town.

Colonel Phan Dang Ngoc, General Department of Logistics, Ministry of National Defense – the eldest grandson, representing the family of comrade Phan Dang Luu, expressed his emotion at the deep concern and gratitude of Nghe An province leaders towards his grandfather. He and everyone were very happy to see their hometown developing more and more – Hoa Thanh today has become one of the leading communes in the district.
