(Baonghean.vn) -Recently, the Nghe An Department of Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Resources in collaboration with Nha Trang University of Fisheries organized a graduation ceremony and granted 4th-class fishing boat captain certificates to 37 fishermen of Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu).

To be granted a 4th-class fishing boat captain certificate, Quynh Long fishermen must attend a 10-day course to supplement basic knowledge on captain duties, maritime operations, techniques for exploiting, preserving aquatic products and protecting aquatic resources; operations of controlling fishing boats with a capacity of 300 CV or more; operations of searching for fishing grounds for exploitation of aquatic products...

Up to now, the fishing fleet of Quynh Long commune fishermen has 174 vessels, with a total capacity of 18,633 CV. Quynh Long commune strives to increase the fishing fleet to 180 vessels by 2014, with aquatic product output reaching from 7,700 tons to 8,000 tons with a total value of over 160 billion VND. /.
