Quynh Luu: Registered to build 24 new iron-hulled ships

(Baonghean.vn) - Quynh Luu is a district with a large number of boats with more than 1,100 vessels participating in seafood exploitation. Of these, 614 vessels have a capacity of over 90CV. Accounting for 50% of the number of boats in the whole province.

Every year, Quynh Luu fishermen build 50-70 new large-capacity boats. In the first 6 months of 2014 alone, the whole district built 56 new boats with engines of 200CV or more. Thanks to that, the seafood output of Quynh Luu district is always higher year after year, with an average annual output of 35,000 to 40,000 tons. After the Government issued Decree 67/ND/CP on July 7, 2014 on a number of policies for fisheries development, Quynh Luu fishermen were very happy, excited and quickly registered for loans to build new boats.

Up to now, the whole district of Quynh Luu has registered to build 397 new vessels, of which 24 are iron-hulled vessels and 337 are wooden-hulled vessels. The vessels registered for loans all have an engine capacity of over 400 CV, valued from 4 to 15 billion VND each. Large vessels with large engines will help Quynh Luu fishermen go offshore, far to exploit more seafood, at the same time, contributing to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the country./.
