Quynh Luu: More than 30 people live to be 100 years old

(Baonghean.vn) -Quynh Luu is the second most populous district in Nghe An province, with 43 communes and towns. In recent years, the local government has paid great attention to the health care of the elderly in the area.

On the occasion of the beginning of the new year 2013, the Nguyen Duy clan and Mr. Nguyen Duy Vien's family (Hoang Mai town) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th birthday of Mr. Nguyen Duy Vien. According to the district People's Committee, the whole Quynh Luu district currently has 33 centenarians. However, 32 of them are female, only Mr. Nguyen Duy Vien is male.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Vien was born on June 25, 1913 in a family with a revolutionary tradition, so Mr. Vien joined revolutionary organizations early and was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam in March 1955. He was then assigned by the organization to hold the position of Chairman of the Administrative Committee of Quynh Thien Commune. He gave birth to 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl, and currently has a total of 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom are adults. Currently, although he is 100 years old, he is still lucid and healthy, living in Hoang Mai town, and is the oldest person in town.
