Quynh Luu: Opening of Phung Hung Temple Festival 2013
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of April 19 at Phung Hung Temple - Quynh Xuan Commune People's Committee in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Quynh Luu District solemnly held the opening ceremony of Phung Hung Temple Festival and the 7th Quynh Luu District Sports Festival in 2013.
Mr. Dang Ngoc Kim, director of the district sports center, read the opening speech at the ceremony.
According to historical records, the Temple is in Quynh Tu village, now in Quynh Luu commune, Quynh Luu district. Phung Hung (766-791), Tu Cong Phan, was from Duong Lam (Ba Vi - Ha Tay). Because the Tang Dynasty's domination was too harsh, Phung Hung and his son gathered forces to revolt, seized power, and established autonomy. The soldiers honored him as Dai Vuong. After 7 years, he died, and the people honored him as Bo Cai Dai Vuong (King of Parents).
The festival takes place over two days (April 19-20, or March 9 and 10 of the lunar calendar) with two main parts: the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony includes the announcement ceremony, the hour of the rat ceremony, and the great blessing ceremony.
The festival includes many cultural and artistic activities, traditional folk games such as stick pushing, tug of war, men's and women's volleyball, and women's soccer.
Phung Hung Temple Festival commemorates the merits of Bo Cai Dai Vuong Phung Hung, is also a festival to pray for blessings, for national prosperity, and to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people and visitors from all over./.
