Quynh Luu: Celebrating the 56th Anniversary of the Opening of Truong Son Road (May 19)
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 13, the Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association of Quynh Luu district held a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification and the 56th anniversary of the opening of the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail (May 19, 1959 - May 19, 2015).

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the glorious historical tradition of 40 years of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country and 56 years of the opening of the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail. Promoting the historical tradition, over the years, the Truong Son Traditional Association of Quynh Luu district has continuously grown and matured. Initially established in 2010, the number of members was still small, but up to now, the association has developed with a total of 1,318 members in 20 communes and towns in the district.
In recent years, promoting the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves” of the nation, the Association has launched many movements with the spirit of solidarity for comrades, supporting tens of millions of VND to help and encourage members in difficult circumstances. The Association also organized for members to visit old battlefields, visit comrades at Truong Son cemetery, visit Quang Tri ancient citadel, visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Dong Loc T-junction, Truong Buon cemetery, visit Uncle Ho’s hometown…

The anniversary is an opportunity for members to meet and pay their respects to their fallen comrades who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. At the same time, they review the heroic and tragic years of the time when they crossed the Truong Son mountain range to save the country, their hearts filled with hope for the future. The delegates participated in discussions and gave their opinions to build the Association to develop more and more, becoming an organization with many effective and meaningful activities…./.
