Quynh Luu: Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Quynh Thang commune

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of April 25, the People's Committee of Quynh Thang Commune (Quynh Luu District) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the commune's founding (April 25, 1954 - April 25, 2014). Attending the ceremony were comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, leaders of Quynh Luu District and a large number of people.

Quynh Thang commune, Quynh Luu district was established on April 25, 1954 on the basis of separation from Quynh Mai commune, including Da Bac, O O Ho Dong, Long Thuyen, Lang Moi, O Ga, Dong Lay, Dat Thit, Thanh Nong, Dong Ai villages... Residents are mainly from lowland communes to settle down and build a new economy. Through the resistance wars, from this land there were 97 martyrs, 50 people who left a part of their blood and bones for the country, 30 sick soldiers, 3 Vietnamese heroic mothers. With 60 years of construction and growth, Quynh Thang people have promoted the spirit of great solidarity, diligent labor and production to make the locality develop day by day.

Quynh Luu district leaders presented a banner and flowers to Quynh Thang commune.

From a wild mountainous area with scattered population in ethnic villages, Quynh Thang has now been 100% tiled, the poverty rate has decreased to just over 12%, the road system has been widened from 7 to 10 meters and many roads have been asphalted and concreted. The health care network from commune to village has been strengthened in quality to better serve the people's need for medical examination and treatment. Regarding education, quality has also been continuously improved. The economic growth rate in 2013 reached 18%. National defense and security have been consolidated and maintained. The 60th anniversary of establishment is an opportunity for the cadres and people of Quynh Thang commune to promote the tradition and achievements, continue to unite and strive to build an increasingly prosperous homeland.

On this occasion, leaders of Quynh Luu district presented Quynh Thang commune with a banner bearing the words "60 years of solidarity, construction and development of Quynh Thang commune's cadres and people."./.
