Quynh Luu must have a strategy to promote marine economic development.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district, after adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu district has 33 commune-level administrative units left, with a natural area of ​​more than 43 thousand hectares and a population of more than 290 thousand people.

In 2017, the district achieved and exceeded 29/32 socio-economic targets, the economic growth rate reached 7.68%, an increase of 0.13% compared to 2016; the economic structure shifted in a positive direction: agriculture - forestry - fishery - services; the average income per capita reached over 32 million VND; the total output of exploitation and aquaculture reached over 72 thousand tons, an increase of 3.9% compared to 2016.

Comrade Hoang Danh Lai, Chairman of Quynh Luu District People's Committee reported on the local socio-economic situation.

In 2017, the district attracted 8 investment projects in production and business with a total capital of more than 258 billion VND. Currently, the whole district has 14 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 43.75% of the total number of communes.

At the meeting, leaders of Quynh Luu district made a number of recommendations and proposals to support investment capital, repair and upgrade some key traffic works in the district, Lach Quen fishing port; invest in building cultural houses and kindergartens in some communes in special areas; have a mechanism to support the development of deer herds; and process agricultural and seafood products.

Representatives of provincial departments and branches contributed ideas to find ways to promote economic development in Quynh Luu.

Representatives of provincial departments and branches requested Quynh Luu to do a good job in infrastructure planning; guide people on procedures for registration and land lease to expand industries and service occupations serving fishery logistics... promote the application of science and technology in production, aquaculture, and fishing of aquatic products, and increase product value.

According to the assessment of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Quynh Luu is a leading locality in applying science and technology in aquaculture and seafood production.

However, the infrastructure serving fishing logistics in Quynh Luu still has many shortcomings and needs to be upgraded and repaired soon.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Quynh Luu in economic development, improving people's lives, completing and exceeding the basic targets set; changing the face of the countryside. Regarding some existing problems, the departments and branches have given comments, the leaders of Quynh Luu district need to proactively overcome them.

In the coming time, Quynh Luu must take advantage of its advantages to accelerate economic and social development, such as the large remaining land fund; marine economic potential (seed production, seafood processing, tourism)... Therefore, Quynh Luu needs to carefully consider and review the planning of economic zones; promote the application of science and technology in production, select good projects for development, focus on attracting investment; have a strategy for marine economic development; actively build new rural areas...

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested departments and branches to create conditions for Quynh Luu to build infrastructure and promote the development of the marine economy.
