Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Huy (born in 1983) in Hamlet 1, Ngoc Son Commune, Quynh Luu District, works at Squadron 102, Coast Guard Region 1. Due to the nature of his work on a remote island, he could not return home for Lunar New Year 2014. On February 14, 2014, his unit allowed him to return home to visit his wife and children. At that time, his father was building a house for the couple to live separately, and their first daughter was only 4 months old.

With his industrious nature, Mr. Huy took advantage of the time to repair the attic and unfortunately slipped and fell, hitting his head on the ground. Although his family and unit took him to many hospitals for treatment, the fall from a height of 6m caused Mr. Huy to suffer a traumatic brain injury and become a vegetative person. With a daily cost of over 300,000 VND and 3 caregivers at home, along with a loan of over 300 million VND for his treatment, Mr. Huy's family is currently facing many difficulties. To help Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Huy's family ease their difficulties, on this occasion, Quynh Luu district presented the family with 5 million VND, and at the same time, encouraged the family to continue to take good care of Mr. Huy so that he can overcome his illness and recover soon./.
