Quynh Luu: Successful first fish crop of the year

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 23, 2015, at Lach Quen port, Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district, dozens of seafood exploitation vehicles docked in the joy of victory.

After the Tet holiday, the first fishing trip of the year started later than in previous years. However, the joy came earlier for the fishermen here. Lach Quen Port has dozens of boats, each boat catches an average of over 20 tons of various types of fish worth about 200 million VND.

Typically, the boat of Mr. Nguyen Van Men - Phong Thai hamlet, Tien Thuy commune is a newly built boat that went on its first fishing trip and caught more than 30 tons of anchovy worth over 300 million VND. This is a good sign for Tien Thuy fishermen in particular and fishermen in Quynh Luu district in general.

In recent years, thanks to the direction of the district's agricultural sector and the state's support policies for fishermen, fishermen in Tien Thuy commune have invested in building many new high-capacity fishing vessels to serve their exploitation.

Currently, the whole commune has 323 boats, of which 113 have a capacity of 400 CV - 1,100 CV, the rest have a capacity of less than 400 CV. The newly built vessels are fully equipped with modern machinery systems such as vertical and horizontal detectors, radios and positioning devices to meet the needs of fishermen for offshore fishing in large fishing grounds. At the same time, fishermen affirm the sovereignty of the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.
