Quynh Luu: Honoring 78 typical advanced farmers

(Baonghean.vn) - On April 20, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Luu district organized the "Conference of typical and advanced farmers for the period 2010 - 2015".

Over the past 5 years, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Luu district has constantly strived, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and achieved many great results. In the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, they united to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably. The whole district recognized 13,194 good farming households at all levels. Of which, 43 households achieved good production and business at the central level, 194 households achieved good production and business at the provincial level, 627 households achieved good production and business at the district level and 12,330 households achieved good production and business at the commune level.

Along with the emulation movement of good production and business, every year, the Association has coordinated with functional agencies to organize the transfer of scientific and technological advances into production and animal husbandry. Up to now, the total value of agricultural production has reached nearly 5,800 billion VND, an increase of 5.4 times compared to 2010. Food output in 2014 reached 103 thousand tons, the average production value reached 87 million VND/ha, an increase of 35 million VND/ha compared to 2010.

The movement of farmers competing to build new rural areas has been recognized and actively participated in by members. Households have donated 265.5 hectares of land of all kinds, including 47,315 square meters of walls and architectural works, and 319,587 working days. In addition, many households have voluntarily contributed money, labor, land, and fences to expand and build rural roads, solidify canals, and improve fields.

On this occasion, Quynh Luu district awarded certificates of merit and gifts to 78 outstanding farmers and sent 5 delegates to attend the Conference of typical advanced farmers organized by the Provincial People's Committee.
