Quynh Luu: Summary of 10 years of implementing Central Resolution 7 (9th term)

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 24, Quynh Luu District Party Committee held a conference to summarize 10 years of implementing the 9th Central Resolution on religious work.

Quynh Luu has 33 communes and towns with a population of nearly 290,000 people, of which Catholicism has 7,496 households with nearly 44,000 people, accounting for 15.6% of the district's population, living in 51 villages and hamlets. Regarding Buddhism, there are currently about 2,000 followers, accounting for about 0.06% of the district's population with 4 pagodas and 2 abbots. Implementing the 9th Central Resolution on religious work, the Standing Committee of the Quynh Luu District Party Committee has issued a number of documents directing the implementation, in which it directs the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots level, mobilizing religious people and religious dignitaries to effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State.

In general, after 10 years of implementation, the awareness of cadres, party members, union members and youth union members has been raised; the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels has been affirmed; the coordination between the Fatherland Front, departments and branches has been innovated in implementing religious work. Thanks to the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the lives of people in religious areas have improved significantly, the rate of well-off households has increased and the rate of poor households has decreased. There are 235 economic development models with an average income of 100 million VND/household/year. Some craft villages have been maintained, restored and developed, creating stable jobs for many people in religious areas. In 10 years, Quynh Luu district has invested in building welfare works in religious areas with a value of 45.5 billion VND. The rate of cultural families among the parishioners reached 71%, an increase of 16% compared to 2003. Education and health care work has many outstanding results, especially 100% of schools in the parish have universalized primary education at the right age, 3 schools have met national standards. Parishioners have also actively participated in donating land to open roads, contributing money to build new rural areas. Up to now, they have donated over 4,820 m2 of land, 1,090 m2 of surrounding walls and supported 2 billion VND to build new rural areas. Security and order have been consolidated and maintained, the number of incidents arising is increasingly limited.

To better implement the Resolution of the 9th Central Committee on religious work in the coming time, the leaders of Quynh Luu district suggested raising awareness and unifying the guiding viewpoints of Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations on religious work. Effectively implement policies and socio-economic development programs, improve the material and cultural life of the people; Create conditions for religions to operate normally in accordance with the policies and laws of the State; Promote the patriotic emulation movement, live a good life and good religion among the masses of believers, dignitaries and monks at the grassroots level, build the great national unity bloc, successfully carry out the cause of innovation, build and protect the country...

At the conference, Quynh Luu District Party Committee awarded certificates of merit and rewards to 8 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution 7 of the 9th Central Committee on religious work.
