(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, September 4, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Luu district held a conference to summarize the movement of good farmers in production and business in the period 2009 - 2011.
Attending the meeting were 90 delegates representing 6,226 good production households at all levels in the district. Representatives of the Provincial Farmers' Association, the Standing Committee of the Quynh Luu District Party Committee and district-level departments and organizations.
Overview of the conference
In the past 3 years, the movement of farmers competing in good production and business has developed in many fields, attracting a large number of members and farmers to enthusiastically participate. Among the 6,226 good production and business households at all levels, there are 52 households at the central level, 307 at the provincial level, 527 at the district level and 5,340 at the grassroots level. Many households have large production scales, attracting hundreds of workers, earning hundreds of millions to billions of VND/year. The district farmers' association has opened 158 vocational training classes for 5,137 farmers, 447 training classes on science and technology for 46,682 people, supported farmers to borrow capital for production and business worth 339 billion VND; built a fund to support farmers worth 42 billion VND. The whole district has 39 livestock farms, with an average income of 350 million VND/year; Farmers actively participated in building 22 craft villages and 30 craft villages in the whole district, with production value reaching over 200 billion VND. Through the production movement, 3,120 new members were recruited, bringing the total number of members to 48,004 people, the rate of farmers joining the association reached 85.7%. Good farming households have created jobs for 29,500 workers, helping more than 1,800 farming households escape poverty and become well-off.
At the conference, the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of good farmers and businessmen; The conference honored 5 delegates attending the Conference to summarize the movement of good farmers and businessmen in Nghe An province.
