Quynh Luu: Implementing livestock and veterinary work and supplementing spring crop production
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, March 14, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district held a conference to deploy livestock and veterinary work and supplement spring crop production in 2013. Attending the conference were representatives of the district People's Committee, the district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and representatives ofVeterinary Departmentbelong to2 towns and 41 communes in the area.
In 2012, the livestock and veterinary work of Quynh Luu district achieved many important results. The livestock production value reached 1,105 billion VND, the proportion of livestock reached 47.1% in the agricultural sector structure. The district evaluated and granted 22 certificates of meeting farm criteria according to the criteria in Circular 27/2011/TT-BNN.
Veterinary work and disease prevention have been strengthened. In 2012, Quynh Luu district promptly and effectively directed the work of preventing and controlling livestock and poultry diseases; effectively preventing foot and mouth disease. Vaccination work for livestock and poultry has been promoted. The whole district has carried out spring and autumn livestock vaccination, vaccinated against poultry diseases, vaccinated against FMD. Strengthened quarantine of animals and animal products, and slaughter control. The work of building and managing the grassroots veterinary network has had positive changes. Up to now, 43/43 communes and towns have had heads of the commune veterinary committee, including 2 comrades with university degrees and 2 comrades with college degrees.With the achieved results, the veterinary work of Quynh Luu district in 2012 ensured the safety of livestock and poultry, contributing to the development of the livestock industry.
