Quynh Luu: Deploying disaster prevention, search and rescue work

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 23, the Military Command of Quynh Luu district held a conference to review the work of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, fire and explosion prevention, collapse rescue, forest fire prevention, guard work in 2014 and deploy tasks in 2015.

Over the past year, agencies and units in Quynh Luu have fully and deeply grasped documents from superiors, regularly coordinated closely with Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station to grasp the situation of activities of vessels at sea, and informed and guided fishermen on measures to safely avoid storms.

In 2014, the district armed forces mobilized 104 people to help people overcome the consequences of storms and floods in the communes of Quynh Thanh, Quynh Lam, and Quynh Van. In the district, there were 3 shipwrecks at sea, and the district military command also directed 5 maritime militia ships to participate in the rescue, with 300 people participating. Nearly 1,600 people and 10 cars were mobilized to participate in forest fire prevention in the communes of Quynh Thang, Quynh My, and Quynh Nghia...

The unit regularly focuses on building a standard and managing discipline. In 2014, the unit allocated more than 350 million VND to buy additional beds, cabinets, tables and chairs and to build a green, clean and beautiful environment.

Deploying the 2015 tasks, the Military Command of Quynh Luu district will continue to direct communes and towns to disseminate and thoroughly educate all officers and soldiers to grasp the contents of the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control. Coordinate well with agencies and localities to strictly maintain the duty regime and combat readiness. Timely notify superiors about the situation in the locality and handle situations that arise.

On this occasion, 4 groups and 5 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Quynh Luu District Military Command for their achievements in performing the tasks of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, fire prevention, collapse rescue, forest fire prevention and guard duty in 2014.
