In 2014, although storms and floods occurred less in both intensity and number, the weather was quite unusual. During the year, there was a heavy rain and flood that inundated 2,257 hectares of summer-autumn rice in 21 communes and towns, causing an estimated damage of 25 billion VND. Fog affected the visibility of fishermen, along with the impact of storms at sea, which was the main cause of 5 accidents at sea, sinking 4 ships, killing and missing 5 people, causing an estimated damage of 2.6 billion VND.

The weather situation in 2015 continues to have many complex and unpredictable developments. Therefore, at this conference, Quynh Luu district has deployed a plan for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue in 2015 with the goal of: Proactively preventing, promptly responding, urgently and effectively overcoming. In which, prevention is the main focus, search and rescue work must be ready to promptly respond to any bad situations that occur, in order to minimize damage caused by natural disasters, contributing to ensuring national security and defense in the district.

At this conference, Quynh Luu district also deployed the production plan for the 2015 Summer-Autumn crop to 100% of communes and towns. According to the plan, the district will plant a total area of ​​10,400 hectares of various crops. Of which, food crops are 8,350 hectares; food crops are 1,050 hectares, starchy tuber crops are 200 hectares, short-term industrial crops are 350 hectares and annual crops are 450 hectares. Regarding the structure of rice varieties, the district recommends that communes focus on key rice varieties such as BC15; TBR 225, Thien Uu 8, Thai Xuyen 111... The conference also focused on discussing and proposing many solutions to remove difficulties for the production of the 2015 Summer-Autumn crop to strive for the district to achieve a total food output of 43,688 tons, with an average production value of 35 - 38 million VND/ha.
