Quynh Luu: Road repair after people's complaints

(Baonghean) - In response to people's complaints about the traffic route connecting National Highway 1A through Hau - Doi - Yen - Minh communes being degraded and construction progress behind schedule, Quynh Luu district has inspected and directed contractors to urgently take remedial measures.

The project to build a road from National Highway 1A to the marine eco-tourism road passes through 4 communes including Quynh Hau, Quynh Doi, Quynh Minh, and Quynh Yen.

For damaged sections, the contractor cut the carpet, replaced the entire gravel layer underneath and laid new carpet.

The route is 9.5 km long with a total investment of 95 billion VND. The project investor is the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district, construction began at the end of 2008 by two contractors, Hong Dao Company Limited and Minh Quang Company Limited.

To date, the project has been completed nearly 100% and put into use. In places where the road has been completed, people's travel is much more convenient than before due to the road expansion.

Hong Dao Company Limited has carried out repairs and fixed the peeling sections.

However, although it has just been handed over, some road sections in Quynh Hau and Quynh Doi communes have experienced peeling of the road surface, many sections have sunk deeply, creating potholes due to overloaded cars and construction material trucks running on this road at too high a density.

Faced with the above situation, through meetings with voters, people in communes where the road passes through have expressed many opinions, requesting the functional departments and branches of Quynh Luu district to inspect and consider. The People's Committee of Quynh Luu district established an inspection team, verified and directed the contractor to urgently repair the damaged section to facilitate people's travel during the Lunar New Year 2017.

To speed up progress, Hong Dao Company Limited has mobilized more machinery to serve people traveling during Tet.

Currently, at the road section passing through Quynh Hau commune, Hong Dao Company Limited has mobilized 15 machinery including rollers, excavators, graders and more than 20 workers to repair the degraded areas. The contractor proceeded to scoop and cut the pavement, replace the entire gravel layer underneath and re-pave the pavement./.
