Quynh Tam (Quynh Luu): Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the commune's founding (May 25, 1954 - May 25, 2014)

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 25, Quynh Tam commune, Quynh Luu district solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the commune's founding (May 25, 1954 - May 25, 2014).

According to the district's policy, on May 25, 1954, Quynh Tam commune was separated from Tam Xuan commune. In addition, Quynh Tam commune also merged with Quang Phong village of Dien Chau district and Nghia Mon village of Yen Thanh district.

At that time, Quynh Tam commune consisted of 6 hamlets: Xuan Tho, Nghia Mon, Dong Mung, Dong Ho, Dong Lay and Quang Tinh. From here, the province and district had many policies to bring young people and households in the Bai Ngang communes to do new economic activities, to exploit the wild valley land bordering the 3 districts of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh to build Cu Chinh Lan farm area, exploit Khe Trai cave, Hoc Bua, Vung Co Ma... Through the resistance wars, Quynh Tam commune had many local children leave to protect the Fatherland, the commune had 82 martyrs, 85 wounded soldiers and 3 mothers were awarded the title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" by the State.

In 1981, the Council of Ministers (now the Government) decided to split Quynh Tam commune into two communes, Quynh Tam and Tan Son. Entering the period of renovation, the Party Committee, government and people of Quynh Tam commune have continuously promoted the precious traditions of previous generations to strive to build their homeland stronger and stronger. The economic growth rate reached 12%, the budget revenue reached over 5 billion VND, the average income per capita reached 18.5 million VND, the poverty rate was 9.4%. The Party Committee has been clean and strong for many consecutive years, and political organizations have always completed their tasks excellently.

Comrade Ho Ngoc Dung - Vice Chairman of Quynh Luu District People's Committee presented the banner to the Party Committee, government and people of Quynh Tam commune.

On this occasion, the leaders of Quynh Luu district presented Quynh Tam commune with a banner bearing the words "Cadres and people of Quynh Tam commune - 60 years of solidarity, construction and development."./.
