At the age of 22, having won the highest position of V.League and appearing in the U.23 Vietnam squad and then the national team, Van Binh is one of the most remarkable young talents of the Nghe An team. However, besides their expertise, what is worth mentioning about Van Binh, Trong Hoang, and Van Hoan is their moral character. The end of the 2012 season was also the time when Van Binh's contract with SLNA ended. At that time, thinking about the situation of his hometown team and especially the sincerity of coach Nguyen Huu Thang, Van Binh decided to accept a modest signing bonus to stay with SLNA for another year. Together with Trong Hoang and Van Hoan, Van Binh joined B.Binh Duong with a 3-year contract. Van Binh's signing bonus was 5 billion VND, with a salary of 40 million VND/month. There were real "revolutions" in income, but the period considered the "honeymoon" between Van Binh and B.Binh Duong did not last long, because in the same season, the team from Thu Dau Mot brought in Le Tan Tai, a midfielder from Khanh Hoa.

Van Binh and Tan Tai took turns playing and even like the 2015 season, the midfielder from Nghe An had to sit on the bench. As a talent who refused to accept that reality, after only 2 years, Van Binh expressed his wish to leave and B.Binh Duong accepted. The destination of this midfielder from Nghe An was FLC Thanh Hoa. With the goal of winning the V.League for the first time, FLC has invested heavily in Thanh Hoa football since the 2016 season and contracts like Van Binh and Dinh Dong are examples.

Although his income may not be as high as when he was at B.Binh Duong, at FLC Thanh Hoa, Van Binh is definitely the "main actor".
