After deducting expenses, he and the crew on the boat earned from 9 to 10 million VND/person. The first trip of the year was a success, so everyone on the boat is very excited. Hopefully the next trips will be as profitable as this one."

At Lach Quen port, fishing boats of fishermen from some communes such as Quynh Long, Quynh Tien, Quynh Thuan... have docked, ending the first fishing trip of the year and all have made a big profit. Mr. Tran Van Chat, owner of fishing boat NA 93205 in Quynh Long commune, said that the beginning of the year is the best time to catch seafood because of favorable weather. Therefore, since the last days of December, nearly 200 boats of Quynh Long commune have gone out to sea to fish and docked in the first days of 2014. On this trip, Mr. Chat's boat caught more than 1 ton of exported hairtail fish, 500 kg of spotted fish and many other types of seafood. Compared to previous trips, this trip was a great success, with a higher catch and a higher selling price in the market.

At Lach Con port, many fishing boats of fishermen in Quynh Phuong ward are docking after many days of fishing at sea. Arriving at Lach Con on the morning of January 9, we felt the bustling atmosphere here. The scene of buyers and sellers combined with the sound of the engine coming from the boat made the typical atmosphere of the sea even more evident. The fishing boat of Mr. Tran Van Ngoc in Hong Phong block, Quynh Phuong ward has a capacity of 195 CV. During the past 10 days of fishing at sea, his fishing boat caught 4 tons of high-value fish, such as: grouper, melon fish, mackerel, squid, shrimp, crab... The first trip of the year was favorable, so he and many other fishermen earned more than 100 million VND. After deducting expenses, each fisherman earned from 5 to 7 million VND/trip.

Quynh Phuong currently has 630 fishing vessels, of which 190 have a capacity of 90 CV to 400 CV. In the first days of the year, the prices of seafood increased sharply, from 150,000 VND to 200,000 VND/kg of fish and fresh squid, so most vessels made a profit."

The first offshore trips of the year by fishermen in the coastal areas of Quynh Luu district and Hoang Mai town were a big success, a big win, which encouraged them to stay at sea and go offshore.
