Launch of the self-governing women's club "Blue Sea"

(Baonghean.vn) - On April 23, at Ruby star beach Quynh Resost resort at Quynh Nghia beach, the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district held a ceremony to launch the 2015 campaign for women to join hands to protect the environment and launch the self-managed women's club "Blue Sea".

Leaders of Quynh Luu district witnessed the signing ceremony of the emulation agreement on environmental protection of communes and towns.

Faced with the increasingly serious environmental pollution, especially the marine environment, the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district has developed a plan to implement the program "Women join hands to build green roofs" in 2015. At the launching ceremony, the district association raised the alarming situation of environmental pollution that is threatening the health of each person, affecting the rural landscape. Thereby, it aims to promote propaganda and education to raise awareness and change the behavior of women's union members and people about the responsibility to protect the environment, protect clean water sources, and protect beaches. In particular, it focuses on promoting the pioneering and core role of women in implementing and building pilot models for waste collection and treatment in families and residential areas.

In order to enhance the responsibility of each level of the association, at the ceremony, 33 women's associations of communes and towns signed an emulation agreement to effectively implement the 2015 environmental protection movement and maintain it regularly.

On this occasion, the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district also launched a pilot self-managed women's club "Green Sea" in Quynh Nghia commune. Women's unions in hamlets will organize movements to clean Quynh Nghia beach, and at the same time monitor the environmental sanitation of restaurants on the beach to have a plan to handle violations.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, women started picking up trash, bottles, waste, etc. on the 3km long Quynh Nghia beach to create a clean, beautiful, and fresh coastline and beach, welcoming the opening ceremony of Quynh beach tourism which will take place during the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays./.
