Launch of the book "Facing B.52"

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory in the air, on December 4, Tre Publishing House and Tomorrow Media Company organized the launch of the book "Facing B.52".

During the period from March 2010 to September 2012, the group of authors who compiled the book conducted meetings and recorded the memories of 116 witnesses to the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu in the air. It is a portrait of a Hanoi facing B-52, the pain and loss, the unbelievable adaptations of the Hanoi people...

With 3 parts, the book follows the timeline from the time when the North fought against the destructive war, reconstructing the living context of Hanoi people in the years 1966-1972 and the process of the Air Defense - Air Force researching how to fight B.52.

Next is the unforgettable 12 days and nights of the people who stayed in Hanoi during the Dien Bien Phu in the air campaign.

Part III is the story of the Paris Agreement under the impact of Dien Bien Phu in the air as well as the nearly 5-year negotiation process of the rare, arduous, long-lasting diplomatic war to restore peace in the North.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Ha, Director of the Institute of Party History, former Deputy Director of the Vietnam Military History Institute, thanks to the creative approach of the group of authors, this is an interesting and lively book about history.
