Launch of "Dang Thuy Tram's Diary" in Russian

On the afternoon of September 20, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, the ceremony to introduce and present the book "Dang Thuy Tram's Diary" in Russian took place.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Pham Xuan Son stated that the introduction of the book "Dang Thuy Tram's Diary" in Russian is an important event, especially since the book is being introduced in Russia, a country that experienced the Great Patriotic War and had many heroic sons who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Mr. Pham Xuan Son emphasized that “Dang Thuy Tram’s Diary” is not just an ordinary book, but a very special memoir of a doctor-soldier who heroically sacrificed in battle, the embodiment of the entire young generation who fought and sacrificed for the cause of repelling foreign invaders and unifying the country; the book is a legacy for today’s generation and a provision for the young generation.

The Ambassador hopes that “Dang Thuy Tram’s Diary” in Russian will become a bridge between Vietnamese and Russian literature, between readers of the two countries, contributing to enhancing understanding and traditional friendship between the Vietnamese and Russian peoples.

Many Russian delegates expressed their admiration and respect for Vietnam's heroism in the fight against foreign invaders; emphasizing that this is a book of special value among Vietnamese publications that have been translated into Russian; an opportunity for Russian readers to access and understand more deeply the noble qualities, courage, optimism, and firm belief in victory of the Vietnamese people.

Ms. Doan Thi Ngoc Tram, mother of heroic martyr Dang Thuy Tram, expressed her deep emotion at the translation and introduction of "Dang Thuy Tram's Diary" to Russian readers.

She said that Dang Thuy Tram had never set foot in Russia, but her heart was imbued with the Russian spirit and culture. Therefore, the Diary being translated and delivered to Russian readers is a consolation for her family in general and the soul of martyr Dang Thuy Tram in particular. She hopes that the book will be welcomed by Russian readers and will contribute to making the two peoples understand each other better.

Up to now, this diary has been translated into 18 languages ​​and has been warmly welcomed by readers around the world, leaving a deep impression on readers./.
