Launching the Center for Response to Toxic Chemical, Radioactive and Nuclear Incidents in the Northern Region
On October 7, at the 86th Chemical Brigade, the Chemical Corps held a ceremony to launch the Northern Region Center for Response to Toxic Chemical, Radioactive and Nuclear Incidents. Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Commander of the Chemical Corps, presided over the announcement of the launch decisions.
On December 17, 2011, the Minister of National Defense issued Decision No. 4890/QD-BQP on the establishment of 3 centers for responding to chemical, radioactive, and nuclear incidents (North, Central, and South). The centers are under the direct management and command of the Chemical Command.

The centers have the function of assisting the Chemical Command and relevant agencies with measures to respond to chemical, radioactive, and nuclear incidents; are specialized forces acting as the core technical force, coordinating with relevant forces to carry out emergency response tasks to chemical, radioactive, and nuclear incidents according to the national response plan.

Previously, the Chemical Corps also held an opening ceremony for the Chemical, Radioactive, and Nuclear Incident Response Centers in the Central and Southern regions.
