(Baonghean.vn) -Responding to the 2013 Clean Up the World Campaign, on the morning of September 22, the Provincial Department of Environmental Protection coordinated with Vinh City Youth Union to organize a ceremony to clean up the environment in the city.
The 2013 Clean Up the World Campaign with the theme “Our habitat... Our planet... Our responsibility...” attracted more than 3,000 union members, youth, students, officials, civil servants of colleges, vocational schools, high schools, and junior high schools; some wards, communes and agencies in Vinh city to participate. The youth union forces, civil servants and public employees collected garbage and cleaned 8 main roads: Nguyen Du, Le Duan, Quang Trung, Le Mao, Truong Thi, Tran Phu...

The “Clean Up the World” campaign was first initiated by Australia in 1993, and was later launched by the United Nations Environment Programme and held annually on a global scale in the third week of September. The 2013 campaign particularly highlighted the role of individuals and communities in demonstrating their responsibility for environmental issues and efforts for the global environment.

The 2013 “Make the World Cleaner” campaign in Vietnam was launched by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province – a city that is being built to become the “greenest – cleanest – most beautiful” city in Vietnam.
