Publishing the book "Vo Nguyen Giap - General of the People"

The book, edited by Dr. Nguyen Hoang Diep and researcher Nguyen Phuc Giac Hai, was compiled to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (1954-2019). The launching ceremony took place on the morning of December 5 in Hanoi.

The launch was attended by the editorial team and Mr. Vo Hong Nam - son of General Vo Nguyen Giap, representing the family, along with many scholars and military generals.

The book about General Giap and the book about famous generals were released at the same time.

Vo Nguyen Giap - The People's General is a biography of General Vo Nguyen Giap, consisting of 3 parts. Part one provides an overview of the general's entire family. Part two discusses his revolutionary career before 1945 and the two resistance wars against France and the US. Part three compiles information and images about the General's death in October 2013.

“The book’s content shows us the General’s personality when he was a young man full of patriotism, burning with revolutionary determination until he became the first general of the Vietnam People’s Army full of courage, as well as the simple daily moments with his loved ones. Not only that, a part of the book’s content also solemnly expresses the feelings and condolences of the people at the General’s State funeral” - Mr. Vu Oanh, former member of the Politburo, Honorary Co-Chairman of the Vu - Vo Family Council of Vietnam, wrote about the book.

Launched on the same day is the book Famous Generals in the History of the Nation, edited by Dr. Nguyen Hoang Diep and Colonel Duc Thong. In addition, the book released last year, Air Battles in the Sky of Vietnam (1965-1975) Seen from Two Sides, was also introduced.

The books are produced by the Center for Translation, Cultural Services and Science and Technology (CTCS), published by Tan Viet Bookstore and Culture and Information Publishing House.
