Although in recent years, significant changes in socio-economic development have contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities, they still face many difficulties. In particular, ethnic minority women and girls are a vulnerable group and suffer many disadvantages in accessing policies and enjoying the fruits of development and integration into the current global trend.

The review report on laws and policies on ethnic minority women and girls is based on an analysis of Vietnam's legal and policy framework on the rights of this group from the perspectives of international human rights standards; specific recommendations take into account the situation in Vietnam and the reality of ethnic minority women and girls facing many deprivations and inequalities.

The draft report reviews and evaluates 30 policy/legal indicators in five main areas: Access to education; gender-based violence (child marriage); reproductive health care; gender equality in marriage and family relations; access to land (land use right certificates).

Delegates also proposed a number of specific solutions in the report's content such as: To enhance the political participation rights of ethnic minority women, it is necessary to perfect the regulations on elections, develop ethnic laws to ensure political equality among ethnic groups and ethnic minority women, and at the same time strengthen propaganda and political education for ethnic minority women to further improve the quality and effectiveness of work at the grassroots level and pay attention to issues related to the rights of ethnic minority women and girls...
