Sergio Ramos, although only a central defender, scored in both of Real Madrid's matches at this year's FIFA Club World Cup. Ramos' goals were both opening goals, which had a huge impact on the outcome of the game. His excellent form helped the Spanish central defender receive the Golden Ball, awarded to the best player of the tournament that just ended in Morocco.

Ramos was injured before the final against San Lorenzo but he still entered the field. "Actually, I had a little pain before the match. I took a risk to play this final. I am very happy because Real won the Cup. I am proud to contribute to the team's success with my goals," Ramos shared.

In the Champions League final against Atletico in May, Ramos also equalized in the second half's injury time, helping Real come back from the dead.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not score in this year's tournament but contributed two assists. He received the Silver Ball. Auckland City's Ivan Vucelich received the Bronze Ball.
