Real Madrid achieves record revenue, surpassing Barca and Man Utd
The reigning Champions League champions overtook two of their biggest rivals to become the world's highest-earning football club in the last financial year.
Real Madrid announced their latest financial figures on October 7.
Accordingly, the revenue of the reigning Champions League champion club increased by about 7.4% in the 2015-16 season, reaching 620 million euros (equivalent to 693.9 million dollars). This is the first time Real has surpassed the income mark of more than 600 million euros.
That figure helped them become the highest-earning football club in the world in the last fiscal year (as of June 30, 2016).

Winning the Champions League helped Real increase its revenue significantly. |
Barca previously reported revenues of 679 million euros ($760.4 million), but that included player sales of around 67 million euros. If the player sales were subtracted in the same way as Real, the Catalan club's income for the last financial year was around 612 million euros, 8 million less than Real's.
Meanwhile, Man Utd set a revenue record in the UK, but ranked third in world football with 570 million euros ($638.3 million).
Thanks to the huge income, the Spanish capital club wiped out 96 million euros ($107.5 million) of debt. But their profits fell by about 22.5% compared to the 2014-15 season, from 55.9 million euros to 43.3 million ($48.4 million).
