Reuters: Gunfire erupted during the manhunt for Paris attack suspect

(Baonghean.vn) - According to Reuters, a police source said many gunshots were heard in the Saint Denis area.in northern Paris on the morning of November 18, as special police forces launched an operation to capture one of the suspects responsible for the shooting on the night of November 13 in the French capital.

French television channel BFMTV said several police officers were injured in the operation.

Both BFMTV and iTele broadcast amateur footage of the shootings and quoted witnesses in the area as saying they heard sporadic gunfire from 4:30 a.m. local time.

The raid took place near the Stade de France stadium, where three suicide bombers detonated explosive belts, killing one victim on November 13.

According to statistics, a total of at least 129 people were killed in a series of attacks in Paris last weekend, and the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) organization has claimed responsibility for this incident. 7 IS militants were killed in the attack, 2 others are still at large.

Previously, two Air France flights en route from the US to Paris had to be diverted due to security issues, according to information from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

An Airbus A-380 departing from Los Angeles landed in Salt Lake City, where passengers and crew were removed from the plane and moved to the waiting room, according to an FAA spokesman.

Another flight departing from Dulles International Airport outside Washington was diverted and landed at Halifax International Airport in Nova Scotia, also due to security concerns.
