Rio, K3 are still the best-selling Kia cars globally
Of the nearly 210,000 Kia vehicles sold globally last February, the Rio and K3 models were the best-sellers with total sales of more than 60,000 units.
Kia Motor Corporation has just announced that in February, Kia car sales worldwide reached 208,700 units, equivalent to the same period last year. The North American market had the highest increase last month with nearly 6%, up to 48,230 units; while the Chinese market, although February coincided with the Lunar New Year, the transaction time was significantly shortened, still increased by more than 3% to 47,211 units. In its home country of South Korea alone, Kia car sales last February reached 35,405 units, up more than 1% compared to the same period last year.

In the first two months of 2015, Kia's global sales reached 420,891 units, down 1% year-on-year. The market with the largest Kia sales was China, reaching over 105,000 units, down nearly 3% year-on-year; the North American and Korean markets both increased by over 4% to reach over 90,000 and over 72,000 units, respectively.
Kia's best-selling model in markets outside of Korea last February was the B-segment Rio (known as the K2 in China) with 32,719 units sold. Coming in second was the C-segment K3 (Cerato or Forte in some other markets) with 28,711 units sold; closely followed by the Sportage with 27,128 units. Rounding out the top 5 best-selling cars last month were the Optima and Sorento with sales of nearly 18,000 and more than 14,000 units, respectively.
The order of Kia's top 5 best-selling models in the past 2 months also remained unchanged, with Rio and K3 leading with nearly 67 thousand units and more than 63 thousand units; Sportage, Optima and Sorento respectively reached more than 56 thousand, 33 thousand and nearly 28 thousand units.
