Sleep disorders are associated with prostate cancer.
For a long time, sleep disorders have become a fairly common phenomenon in modern society and leave many negative consequences for human health.
However, a recent study by scientists at the University of Iceland also shows that sleep-related problems can lead to an increased risk of prostate cancer in men.

According to a study published in the May 7 issue of the American journal "Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention," men who have sleep-related problems such as difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep too much have a risk of developing prostate cancer twice as high as others.
To reach the above conclusion, the group of authors conducted a survey on the sleep quality of 2,100 men in Iceland aged 67-96.
Of these, 14.4% had serious or particularly serious sleep problems. After 5 years of follow-up, scientists found that among those with sleep disorders, 6.4% were diagnosed with prostate cancer. If excluding parameters by age, those who had difficulty falling asleep had a 1.6 times higher risk of prostate cancer than normal people. This rate in those who were awake was 2.1 times.
Research team leader Lara G. Sigurdardottir expressed hope that, if the above research is verified, improving sleep will be one of the solutions to help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
According to Ms. Sigurdardottir, very few people previously knew about the link between sleep disorders and prostate cancer in men, even though many studies have shown that sleep disorders can increase the risk of breast cancer in women./.
