US intelligence plane crash, 4 agents killed

The US military announced that four of its special agents were killed in a plane crash in Djibouti over the weekend while on a mission.

The single-engine U28 aircraft used for special missions crashed on Saturday near Camp Lemonnier, a base used by the US military in the small Horn of Africa nation.

The Pentagon has released the names of the dead agents as Captain Ryan Hall, 30, Captain Nicholas Whitlock, 1st Lieutenant, and pilot Julian Scholten, 26.

The four agents are stationed at Hulbert Field in Florida, where they are assigned to special missions and intelligence operations.

The commander of the US military in Africa said the U28 was "on its way" when it crashed about 10 km from Djibouti International Airport. The cause of the accident is still under investigation./.
