Roland Garros witnessed a big shock from the Williams sisters
A big surprise happened in the second round of the women's singles at the French Open (Roland Garros) when the number 1 seed and defending champion Serena Williams was eliminated by the young Spanish player Gabrine Muguruza (ranked 35th in the world) with a score of 2-0.

It was even more surprising when Serena received a very weak defeat after 2 sets with the same score of 2-6, 2-6. In this match, Serena only won 8 winners, making 29 unforced errors.
This is only Muguruza's second time attending Roland Garros. Last year, Muguruza had to stop in the second round.
“It was great to win against Serena. I played well in this match. I have other important matches ahead and I need to be very careful,” Muguruza said.
Previously, Williams' older sister Venus also had to leave the tournament in the second round after losing 1-2 (6-2, 3-6, 4-6) to her little-known Slovakian opponent, Anna Schmiedlova.
In addition to the Williams sisters, another seed who had to leave the tournament was Italian player Flavia Pennetta after losing to Johanna Larsson (Sweden) 7-5, 4-6, 2-6./.
