On the evening of January 12, in Quy Hop district, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee organized the 7th Western Spring Festival Night 2020.
Attending the festival were Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, 11 districts and towns in Western Nghe An; many actors and athletes participating in competitions and performances along with thousands of people of Quy Hop district.
The Western Spring Festival is a key cultural event held annually and in rotation to welcome the new Spring in 11 districts and towns in the Western region of Nghe An. 2020 is the 7th year the festival has taken place, attracting the attention and response of people from all walks of life in the province.

The 2020 Western Spring Festival in Quy Hop district includes the following activities: Organizing folk games, competing in traditional sports; Art programs and campfires, gong carving festival, drinking rice wine, and lam vong dance. |

Beating the drum to open the festival and delivering the opening speech, comrade Bui Dinh Long stated: The organization of the Western Spring Festival has great significance in educating the tradition of patriotism, national pride, strengthening the great national unity bloc; enhancing responsibility in preserving, promoting, honoring and promoting the cultural identity of the province; together aiming at the goal of exploiting potential, innovation and sustainable and comprehensive development. |

Western Nghe An is a particularly important strategic area in terms of socio-economics, national defense, security and foreign affairs of Nghe An province, the North Central region and the whole country. In the coming time, Nghe An province will continue to increase investment in socio-economic development of the Western region into one of the key regions of the province, linking raw material areas with the exploitation and processing of high-quality and valuable agricultural, forestry and industrial products. In addition, the province will continue to invest in the preservation and development of ethnic cultures associated with economic development, including tourism. |

The festival took place with activities imbued with the cultural identity of the ethnic groups in Western Nghe An such as drumming, gongs, carving, and bamboo dancing to celebrate the Spring Festival; performing rituals and cultural and religious rituals of Nghe An ethnic minorities; performing arts and displaying Spring costumes of ethnic groups; lighting campfires, drinking rice wine, and community dancing... |

The art program performed by the mass art teams of Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Thanh Chuong, Quy Chau, Que Phong districts and Thai Hoa town clearly expressed the gratitude to the Party and Uncle Ho of the ethnic people in Western Nghe An; as well as introduced the land, people, natural conditions, socio-economic conditions of Western Nghe An; the determination to escape poverty of the Kinh, Thai, Mong, Tho, O Du ethnic people... here.
Previously, in the afternoon of the same day, folk games and competitions in traditional sports took place with the following events: Throwing a shuttlecock, playing soccer on stilts and tug of war. Results: First prize in men's and women's singles in throwing a shuttlecock belonged to Quy Hop district; First prize in men's and women's doubles in throwing a shuttlecock belonged to Quy Chau district. In stilt soccer, first prize in men's doubles and mixed-women doubles belonged to Quy Hop district. In tug of war, Quy Hop district also won first prize in the women's team, men's team and mixed-women team categories.
