Bustling "Culture Festival for Peace" celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital

This morning (October 6), the program "Culture Festival for Peace" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the 25th anniversary of Hanoi receiving the title "City for Peace" from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) took place in Hanoi.

“Cultural Festival for Peace” has about 10,000 participants, including about 700 domestic and international guest delegates, 9,000 participants including parade and performance forces including artisans and people from 30 districts, towns; artists, actors, musicians and people from all walks of life in the capital, international friends.

The program is held at the main stage at the King Ly Thai To Monument area and the secondary stages at the areas: Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden, Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square, Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater, Le Thai To - Ba Trieu - Trang Thi - Hang Khay intersection.

“Cultural Festival for Peace” consists of 3 parts. In which, the live performance recreates the historical image of the Capital and performs the medley “Legend of Hoan Kiem Lake - Hanoi people - October emotions - Hanoi spirit - singing the ideals of youth”. This part has the participation of 500 soldiers re-enacting the army taking over the Capital in 1954.

The program introduces and promotes the beauty and richness of Thang Long - Hanoi culture, with performances and parades, such as: Thang Long festival drum performance combined with flag dance, dragon dance, lion dance; parade, introducing Hanoi's cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO and the nation.

The parade introduces typical cultural and religious heritages of the capital: worship of Thang Long Tu Tran, worship of Saint Giong, Tan Vien Son Thanh, Chu Dong Tu...

The “Culture for Peace Festival” once again honors the value of peace, demonstrates pride in the title “City for Peace” awarded by UNESCO, affirms the international community’s recognition of the positive contributions of Hanoi Capital in the struggle for peace as well as in the cause of development, building a Hanoi Capital - City for Peace - Dynamic creative city in integration and development but still preserving Vietnamese traditions.

The program was directed by the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, and organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports at the Ly Thai To King Monument area and the secondary stages at Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden, Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square, Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater, the Le Thai To - Ba Trieu - Trang Thi - Hang Khay intersection with about 10,000 participants.
