The Industrial Electricity Industry plays a role in stabilizing and developing the power transmission system to serve industrial production, agriculture, trade and services, and people's lives. Industrial electrical engineers work on civil and industrial electrical equipment that meets standards and safety requirements such as: Installing and connecting industrial signal transmission systems.
Installation, connection, programming and operation of LPC programming devices. Installation, connection, programming and operation of microcontroller programming devices. Installation and testing of air conditioning equipment. Installation and testing of electro-pneumatic control equipment. Operation and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment…
Unlike industrial electrical engineers (trained at university and postgraduate level) who are responsible for designing systems, ensuring a stable power transmission system with high responsibility, a lot of intelligence and professional experience. Industrial electrical engineering workers (trained at intermediate and college level) will be in charge of technical construction stages, connecting and constructing electrical systems according to technical drawings, and operating electrical systems and electrical machines according to established guiding principles.
According to the report of the General Department of Vocational Training, industrial electricity is the profession with the largest number of registered schools (52 schools) with 6,685 targets. That shows that the demand for training as well as the use of human resources in this profession is at a high level. Industrial electricity is not a hot or new profession, but electricity is related to all areas of life, so the "demand" for human resources in this profession is always high. After graduation, whether choosing a job in a business or working freelance, the advantage of this profession is that students can go to work immediately. Currently, as industrial parks develop widely across the country, the demand for human resources in the field of industrial electricity is also increasing.
Established in 1998, the Faculty of Industrial Electricity is one of the faculties associated with the establishment and development of the Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology. The technical facilities serving the current vocational training of the Faculty of Industrial Electricity are quite fully equipped in terms of types, advanced in technology, vocational training is closely linked to production practices, the output products are skilled workers who meet the requirements of businesses. With 3 criteria for training workers: Knowledge - Skills - Industrial style, the Faculty of Industrial Electricity has affirmed its position in the school and is currently one of the faculties with ASEAN-standard occupations.
The Faculty of Industrial Electricity trains two main occupations: industrial electricity and civil electricity, with 7 majors: Automation of production processes; Pneumatic and hydraulic control systems; PLC control systems; Electrical system installation; Repair, operation and winding of electrical machines; Household electrical appliances and electrical circuit design using ORCAD. Up to now, the faculty has trained 8 regular vocational college courses, 6 interdisciplinary vocational college courses and 15 intermediate vocational courses.
In addition, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering also organizes many short-term training courses to improve skills for students before graduation, meeting the requirements of domestic and foreign enterprises. According to statistics, over 95% of the faculty's students after graduation have found jobs at home and abroad with stable income.
In 2016, the Faculty of Industrial Electricity will enroll 250 students, including 150 vocational college students, 50 vocational secondary school students and 50 vocational primary school students. Of the 150 vocational college students recruited this year, 130 will be trained at the national level and 20 will be trained at the international level.
