Two students were swept away and went missing while swimming in the river.

(Baonghean.vn) - A group of students went swimming in Lam River, suddenly two of them slipped and were swept away by the water and went missing.

On the evening of May 10, the search and rescue force of Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) said that the tragic incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on May 10 on Lam river in Thanh Dong commune, bordering Dung town.

At that time, a group of 7 students from Dong Tuong Secondary School (Thanh Dong Commune, Thanh Chuong) went to Lam River to swim. While swimming, 2 students were unfortunately swept away by the water.

Immediately, the remaining children ran to the shore and called for help from nearby people. However, at the time of the incident, the Lam River water level was high and flowing strongly from upstream, so the two children were swept away.

The two students were identified as being in 6th grade at Dong Tuong Secondary School. One was from Thanh Tuong commune and the other was from Thanh Dong commune.

As of 11 p.m. the same night, search and rescue forces of Thanh Chuong district, Thanh Dong and Thanh Tuong communes and their families had not yet found the two children.
