Because the content of the profile has some points that need to be supplemented and clarified.
Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has just requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to withdraw the nomination dossier of Cat Tien National Park to request UNESCO to recognize it as a World Natural Heritage in order to edit and supplement more data.
Previously, from September 17 to September 24, 2012, a team of experts from the World Conservation Union - a UNESCO advisory body, came to Cat Tien National Park for on-site assessment. After conducting a field survey, the experts from the Association highly appreciated the outstanding global value of biodiversity resources of Cat Tien National Park. However, regarding the content of the dossier, there are some points that need to be supplemented, clarified and expanded on the heritage site boundaries, monitoring data of rare animals and plants, and heritage management plans.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has reviewed and consulted the National Cultural Heritage Council and basically agreed with the proposal of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed that the Prime Minister allow the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO to withdraw the nomination dossier for Cat Tien National Park as a World Natural Heritage to edit and supplement the data as requested by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee./.
