(Baonghean.vn) -Having existed for a century, Tung Huong village (Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong) is still considered an ancient land. According to village chief Lo Minh Tuong, the elderly still recount that this land has existed for a long time.

On the day the village was established, there were only about 10 houses of the Lo family, and the Thai ethnic people gathered here. The small village is nestled behind Pu Kem peak, almost isolated from the outside world by the mountain peaks embracing the clouds and reaching the sky. By mid-1970, the villagers from the deep forest saw the good land and came here to live together, giving rise to the name Tung Huong village. As the farming season passed, the old village split into new villages: Tan Huong and Lien Huong. The original Tung Huong village now has 160 households with 747 people.

Located isolated from the outside life by the high peaks of Pu Xam, Pu Xam Lieng, Pu Kem..., the lives of the people here are still surrounded by poverty with the smoke of slash-and-burn farming and the hard days of hunting and gathering. Until the day the Party and the State paid attention, invested in many support policies on electricity, roads, schools, and ancient land of hundreds of years ago, the sleep was transformed. Tung Huong is closer to the outside life thanks to the 10 km long asphalt road through the clouds and mountains. The power grid has also brightened up a dark green side of the silent forest. At the corner of the village, next to the Thoi stream that has been murmuring for thousands of years, the sound of children playing at 2 preschools and the reading voices from Tam Quang 2 Primary School (Tung Huong facility) resound every day. Concrete roads are also creeping into every corner of the small village.

Since the establishment of Tung Huong Border Post (2008), on the basis of the Border Guard Station of Tam Hop Post, the people of the old village have been enthusiastically helped by the green-uniformed soldiers with many new things. The concentrated livestock and poultry barns far from the village, standard toilets, two-crop rice cultivation... have all been enthusiastically participated in by everyone. Many families have even voluntarily donated land, cut down trees to make way for concrete roads, and built kindergartens such as the houses of Mr. Lo Minh Tuong, Vy Van Phung, Lo Van Mai...The ancient Tung Huong version now has many new things.

At Tung Huong Border Guard Station, mobile phones have no signal, even cordless landline phones are hung on trees to search for signal.
