Spring colors of Pieng Cu
(Baonghean) -Under the spring sunshine of the highlands, in the Pieng Cu resettlement area (Tien Phong, Que Phong, Nghe An), the first houses are appearing on the pink-tiled hillsides, signaling a new life. This is the first spring when 30 households are subject to relocation, making way for the Hua Na hydropower project for the future electricity of the Fatherland.
In a neat wooden stilt house built in the traditional style of the Thai ethnic group, which was just completed at the end of the year, Secretary of the new Pieng Cu Lo village Party cell Hung Khuyen said: as one of 17 households moving from Nong Danh village, Dong Van commune, as well as other households resettled in the village, his family has gradually become accustomed to life in this new homeland. Before moving back, his family was very worried, because they did not know how to make a living in the new place, when they were too familiar with the business practices in their old hometown. But now, the family is reassured and actively working in production in this new homeland. After building a house and settling down, his family was assigned land for production, the local government provided technical guidance, and the villagers shared their experiences, so he felt reassured. This is the initial achievement, a source of encouragement for his family as well as the villagers to be determined to build a life in the new homeland. What makes him happiest is that the local people are very enthusiastic in helping. Any family in difficulty is encouraged and shared, making the neighborhood in the new hometown even closer.

Secretary of the Dong Van Lang Commune Party Committee Hong Thang said: To serve this meaningful project, over 1,200 households in Dong Van and Thong Thu communes must relocate to 17 resettlement sites. According to the plan, Pieng Cu resettlement area is the first to receive over 150 households. Up to now, 30 households in Dong Van commune have moved to their new homes. These are households that voluntarily relocated, bringing their old houses and materials to build houses at the resettlement site. At first, people are facing many difficulties, but because of the project and the electricity, people have responded enthusiastically.
People's lives are gradually stabilizing. People have immediately started production to develop their lives in their new homeland. According to Mr. Thang, although they have not been assigned land or forests, people have cleared land themselves, taking advantage of fertile hills near their homes to increase production. Households have finished building houses, public works such as schools, medical stations, and cultural houses are gradually being completed, households have stabilized their lives and organized production and business. However, the most difficult thing is that the construction and supply of domestic water to people is still slow, in addition, the measurement and issuance of certificates of rights to use forestry land and public land (land for pasture) is still inadequate, affecting people's psychology.
Happy spring in new hometown.
Mr. Sam Ba Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Compensation and Support Council for Hua Na Hydropower Plant said: This year, people in the resettlement area celebrate Tet very happily and warmly in their new homeland. To celebrate this happy New Year, so that people can have a warm and meaningful Tet, households in the resettlement village were given 30 gifts worth 300,000 VND/gift by Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company. Taking care of the traditional Tet for resettled people and local people is a key task of the locality, ensuring support for people's lives in the initial stage.
In the long distances of the highlands these days, one can feel the rhythm of spring coming to every window, every step leading up to the stilt house. And, in the newly built houses, the children's laughter is like happy notes signaling a prosperous spring in a new life.
