Vietnamese History by author Tran Trong Kim has been continuously reprinted recently. The publication published by Literature Publishing House - Nha Nam Culture and Communication Company in 2017 has many regrettable errors.

'Đất nước Việt Nam qua các đời' (2016) và 'Việt Nam sử lược' (2017)
'Vietnam through the Dynasties' (2016) and 'A Brief History of Vietnam' (2017)

For example, in the “Nguyen Thi the pho” version, King Gia Long’s name is Man. This is wrong. King Gia Long only had 3 names: Anh, Noan and Chung. Man was the name of his younger brother. The book also has many errors in years, months, and sexagenary cycles.

On page 445, the author wrote: "In 1927, in the Nghe Tinh region, there was a rebellion caused by the Communist Party." On the same page, there is a note: The Viet Minh Party is the abbreviated name of a revolutionary party called the Vietnam Independence League, established by the Communist Party while still in Guangxi, China, to avoid the two words Communist so that people would not suspect.

First, the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded in 1930 and the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement only appeared after the Communist Party was founded. Therefore, there could not have been a Communist movement since 1927. Second, the Viet Minh Front was founded on May 19, 1941 in Cao Bang, not in Guangxi. It is true that the publisher and editor respect the historical writing viewpoint of scholar Tran Trong Kim, but even if the original is printed, there still needs to be annotations for readers to understand correctly.

Vietnam through the Dynasties by author Dao Duy Anh is a valuable research work on Vietnamese Historical Geography, which was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize (in 2000), but each time it is reprinted, it becomes more and more incorrect.

Vietnam through the Dynasties was published by Hong Duc Publishing House - Nha Nam Culture and Communication Company in 2016. However, all errors in the 1994 version printed by Thuan Hoa Publishing House that the 2016 version is based on to reprint, along with errors in the first 1964 version printed by Science Publishing House, are almost completely accepted in the 2016 version.

For example, the Nha Nam 2016 edition, on page 9, wrote a character named Nguyen Thien Tung. This is a reprint error, the first edition in 1964 wrote it correctly as Nguyen Thien Tung (page 7). The 2016 edition, on page 15, wrote it incorrectly as “diep thu thuy”, the first edition wrote it correctly as “diep du thuy”. These are all inherited errors from the Thuan Hoa edition (1994).

In addition, the 2016 version also has a number of other errors during the editing process, such as page 25 incorrectly writing Gianh River in Quang Binh as Giang River; Gam River is continuously incorrectly written as Gam River (pages 30, 31, 33). Many pages show that the editor did not put much effort into the manuscript when keeping the author's writing style from more than half a century ago.

For example: “Que Duong and Vo Giang districts, Ha Bac province today” (page 21); “Son Vi district, Phu Tho province today” (page 21); “Ha Loi village, Yen Lang district, Vinh Phuc province today” (pages 33, 42, 51)... Granted, this is the original text written by the author, but up to now, many geographical and administrative place names have changed and need to be supplemented or corrected. At that time, with their functions and duties, the editor could completely make notes about the administrative place names today.
